Feature Requests and Ongoing Development of AMS

Modified on Mon, 23 Jun at 9:48 PM

AMS is shaped by the operational and organisational needs of the services that use it. To ensure development stays aligned with those needs, all future improvements are now overseen by the AMS Steering Group.

About the AMS Steering Group

The steering group is made up of representatives from services currently using AMS. It meets every 12 weeks to review and prioritise development work.

  • Meetings: Organised by servcies involved.

  • Purpose: To agree on which features or improvements are brought forward for the next development cycle

Submitting a Feature Request

If your service has a suggestion for improving AMS, it must be raised through your organisation’s representative at the steering group.

Please DO NOT email feature requests to support@ignistechnologies.co.uk, as these will not be picked up through the support channel.

Only feature requests discussed and agreed upon in the steering group will move forward into consideration for development.

What Happens Next?

Once a feature or change request is formally submitted and agreed upon by the Steering Group, it follows the standard governance workflow:

Key Steps:

  1. Feasibility Review (Ignis Technologies) – We assess whether the proposed change is technically viable, avoids duplication, and fits within the existing product structure.

  2. Build Sign-Off (Steering Group) – If feasible, a formal sign-off is required from the Steering Group via a signed document before any work begins.

  3. Development & Release – Once signed off, the feature enters our development pipeline and will be released as part of an upcoming cycle.

Requests that are not feasible or not signed off by the Steering Group will not proceed.

Development Cycles and Timelines

Agreed features are added to the roadmap for the next available 12-week development cycle. Progress updates will be shared with Steering Group representatives throughout and upon completion.

Need Help?

If you're unsure whether a suggestion is already supported in the platform or need help framing a request for your Steering Group rep, our team is available to advise. Please raise a query via the support portal for clarification.

Summary

  • Do: Raise requests through your Steering Group rep.

  • Don't: Email support directly with feature suggestions.

  • Only ratified and signed-off changes will proceed to development.

For help in understanding if your request will be treated as a feature request or an ammendment, please refer to the following article: Change Request Policy.
