Task Delegation

The delegation feature allows users to pass tasks to other users. A common scenario could be the following:

  1. A member of the Org Assurance team will create a task and assign it to a department head or manager.
    1. Malcolm creates a task and assigns it to Sam.
  2. On review, Sam decides that this is a task suitable for Ian to complete.
    1. Sam delegates the task to Ian.

Who can a task be delegated to?

There are limitations to who the task can be delegated to.

The delegate (or target user) must be either:

  • In the same department as the currently assigned user

Or

  • In a department that is subordinate to the currently assigned user.

If the task needs to be reassigned outside of the department, e.g. Pennine, then a new task must be created. This is where you can use the associated task feature to keep track of those which are linked.
